Hentaigana weight
Noto Sans Hentaigana’s Regular instance carries weight class 500, and its cursive forms looked heavier than the surrounding kana. GenZui Sans compiles the 286 hentaigana from the upstream sources at weight axis 380, where their median stem (69.5 units) matches Noto Sans JP Regular’s hiragana (69.3). The four simpler archaic kana keep the Regular instance to match ordinary katakana stems.
Historical kana from GenSeki
The Unicode 18 additions, kana ligatures and small kana come from GenSeki Hentaigana Gothic. KOTO, the alternate NE and the small archaic YE are refitted to the body height and baseline of their kana neighbours; the other eighteen outlines are unchanged.
